- ➤ Surprise is hosting a free job fair with ARIZONA@WORK at the Surprise Regional Library (16089 N. Bullard Ave.) from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5 so job seekers can meet with over 20 local employers. Surprise Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dysart Unified School District will offer campus tours on Thursday, Feb. 12 (8:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.) at the district office where Superintendent John Croteau will review the district's schools. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Highland Prep earned Platinum status on the College Board’s AP School Honor Roll for the 2024-2025 school year — recognizing its commitment to expanding college-level coursework and academic excellence. - ➤ Imagine Prep Surprise implemented extra security measures on campus Friday after a social media post threatened student safety; law enforcement was on campus and school activities, including after-school practices and a girls' varsity basketball game, were canceled (administrators said there was no credible threat). HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Maricopa County Health Department reported two measles cases in the Valley – one case has an unknown exposure. Potential exposure sites in Gilbert include Target, EOS Fitness, and Sam’s Club, and residents are advised to seek help if symptoms like fever, cough, or rash develop. ABC15
