- ➤ City officials say that Surprise's Community Outreach and Neighborhood Grant programs helped serve over 35,600 residents last year through 23 nonprofits, funding events such as the Founders Day celebration, Resource Center afterschool programs, and feminine hygiene kit distributions. - ➤ Criminal justice students at Higley and Williams Field High Schools made nearly 100 get-well cards to support Montana officer Sgt. Jarrod Robinson, who was injured on a disturbance call (their teacher asked what they could do). ABC15
- ➤ Surprise is set to honor America’s 250th birthday at the spring training 5K and fun run on Friday, March 6 at Surprise Stadium. Early registration rates are $30 for the 5K and $15 for the 1K fun run. Surprise Independent
