Surprise will host its 24th annual mayor’s welcome back reception on Wednesday, Feb.
18 at Surprise Stadium from 4 to 6 p.m. City leaders, team partners and baseball fans will celebrate spring training with chef-crafted hors d’oeuvres and commemorative keepsakes ahead of games starting Feb. 20.

Chipotle plans to open its fourth Surprise location in the fast-growing northwest Asante area, with a conditional use permit for a drive-thru being sought.
A neighborhood meeting will be held today from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Asante Library (16755 W. Vereda Solana Drive).
🌲 Environment
Surprise’s master gardeners are hosting a tour of the Xeriscape Garden to explain the benefits of native and desert plants.
The tour runs from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 7 at the Surprise Water Education Center (16126 N. Civic Center Plaza) and does not require registration.
