- ➤ On Sunday, Feb. 22, the Arizona Winds symphonic band will perform 'Heroes and Legends: A Symphony of Cinema' at the Surprise theater (15660 N. Parkview Place). Doors open at 3 p.m. and the free concert starts at 4 p.m. Surprise Independent
- ➤ The Dysart Festival of the Arts will be held at Valley Vista High School on Saturday, March 7 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It will showcase visual and performing arts from local schools plus hands-on workshops and adaptive art experiences. Surprise Independent

- ➤ Benevilla received a grant from the Tohono O’odham Nation to support scholarships at Wirtzie’s Preschool & Childcare, helping local families access quality early learning; the funding from Arizona gaming revenue sharing will ease tuition costs for children (6 weeks to 5 years old). - ➤ Local safety advocates warn that inconsistent e-bike rules could put riders at risk in Surprise when bikes exceed 28 mph (they are then classified as motorcycles under Arizona law). They urge local officials to review these standards to protect riders. ABC15
