- ➤ The city of Surprise will host Vet Fest on Saturday, April 11 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Surprise Stadium to bring together veterans, military families and supporters with live music, vendor booths and military vehicle displays. Surprise Independent

- ➤ Smoothie King held a ribbon cutting on March 5 at 16427 W. Cactus Road (Suite 127) with city council members and had a soft opening on March 9; its public grand opening is set for Saturday, Mar. 28. It is the first West Valley store among 10 in Phoenix. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Developers plan to build Prasada East—an upscale power center featuring a Whole Foods store—at the southeast corner of Sarival and Waddell near Village of Prasada, with the project set to open within the next year. Surprise Independent

- ➤ Grand Music Club Grand Singers and Chorale will present a spring concert titled “This Is America!” at The Grand’s Sonoran Plaza Ballroom (19753 N. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Arizona lawmakers advanced Senate Bill 1424, which will require public and charter schools to offer annual firearms safety training for K-12 students starting in the 2027-28 school year. The bill, awaiting final House approval and lacking additional funding, directs the education department & state agencies to develop the curriculum. ABC15
