- ➤ Cuts to the Department of Veterans Affairs have already reduced Arizona-based staff and more cuts are planned for later this year—raising concerns among local veterans about their access to health care. The VA will release its reorganization plan in June amid these changes. ABC15

- ➤ The Kansas City Royals have released right-hander Ross Stripling and catcher Luke Maile after they opted out of their contracts+ the team said right-hander Carlos Hernández was claimed off waivers by Philadelphia and Nick Pratto and Nelson Velázquez were sent outright to Triple-A Omaha.
