CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The West Valley Arts Council will debut its Sustainable exhibit at Arts HQ Gallery (16126 N. Civic Center Plaza, Suite 102) from April 4 through May 8 to display original 2D and 3D artwork made from natural and upcycled materials. The opening reception will be held on April 4 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. so guests can meet the artists and explore the innovative art. Surprise Independent

- ➤ The final results of a feasibility study on The Vista Center for the Performing Arts are now available—Surprise City Council will review them today. Surprise Independent
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Hearing Loss Association of America West Valley held a meeting on March 31 with Tabitha Parent-Buck, an AuD who presented on ototoxic medications that may cause hearing loss, tinnitus, and balance issues. Attendees joined a brown bag discussion at noon on technology and hearing loss before her presentation. Surprise Independent
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The city of Surprise announced a series of USTA NTRP championship tournaments to be held in April at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex—14469 W. Paradise Lane. More than 1,200 adult tennis players from 17 USTA sections will compete in singles, doubles, mixed doubles, and a Men’s 35’s Hardcourt National Championship with about 50 top players. - ➤ West Valley Preps announced its 12th annual honors for the best boys basketball players in the West Valley and added a third team to recognize the many quality players. The first team includes Michael Simcoe from O’Connor, Kingston Tosi and Cameron Holmes from Millennium, I’yar Shadowvine from Ironwood, and Denali McNeal from Canyon View, with Holmes named player of the year and coach Jed Dunn from Deer Valley named coach of the year—acknowledging their standout contributions.
