GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Surprise City Council approved an amendment to the intergovernmental agreement for the Fire-Medical Department on April 1 that adds El Mirage to the regional public safety training center. The change gives the El Mirage Police Department access for training and expands a partnership that has included other local agencies since 2006. Surprise Independent
- ➤ On April 1, the Surprise City Council approved new appointments for city commissions. Madelyn Pritchard filled a vacancy on the Judicial Selection Advisory Commission (term until June 30), Annie Ansel took an open spot on the Library Advisory Commission (term until June 2027), and Charles Manuel joined the Veterans Disability and Human Services Commission (term until June 30).
