- ➤ Surprise hosted its annual Vet Fest on April 11 at Surprise Stadium to support military families with free activities including live music, food trucks, vendor booths, a kids zone, and static displays of military vehicles. City officials attended and showed their commitment to local veterans. Surprise Independent
- ➤ The city of Surprise is offering free yellow battery collection bins at City Hall (16000 N. Civic Center Plaza) during weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help residents dispose of all battery types safely through its household hazardous waste pickup program. Surprise Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Dysart Unified School District will begin destroying archived special education records from the 2021-2022 school year in July; eligible individuals (parents, guardians, or students) may review or request copies before the records are destroyed. Surprise Independent
