- ➤ The new Oasis Swim Center will debut with Surprise Safety Splash on May 9 between 5 and 7 p.m. at the state-of-the-art facility (12361 N. Perryville Road) where free registration is required and families will enjoy rescue demonstrations, interactive games, raffles, prizes, and swim evaluations focused on water and summer safety. - ➤ Surprise is preparing for its talent show at The Vista on Saturday, May 3 from 5 to 8 p.m. and will feature local singing, dancing, and musical acts; tickets cost $5 for residents (or $7 for non-residents) if purchased before the event, with higher prices available on the day. BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Target opened its second store in Surprise on April 13 at 14101 N. Prasada Parkway in Prasada North during a ribbon cutting with city officials. The 151,000-square-foot store is expected to employ about 200 team members and offers 16,000 square feet for fresh foods, a Disney Store at Target shop-in-shop, a Starbucks Cafe and a CVS pharmacy. - ➤ Grand Drama & Comedy Club will present 'Young Frankenstein,' a production that follows Dr. Frederick (the grandson of Baron Von Frankenstein) who inherited his family's Transylvania estate and must leave for it promptly. The show runs (May 1-4 and May 9-11). Surprise Independent
