- ➤ Renewal by Andersen and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Arizona have launched the 'Little’s BIG Dream' program to match kids with mentors for once-in-a-lifetime outings such as trips to Sedona and courtside seats at a Suns game. - ➤ E-15 gas went on sale in Arizona yesterday for drivers to lower pump costs but local mechanics and AAA warned that its higher ethanol blend could damage older vehicles (cars made before 2001 are most at risk) and advised checking owner manuals. ABC15
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Tillman Middle School hosted an art show Thursday night where students displayed unique paintings and creative flag designs. Visual arts teacher Emily Joy said the event lifted spirits across the community. ABC15
- ➤ On April 20, Shadow Ridge High School hosted the Dysart Unified School District annual STEM and Robotics Competition where third through eighth graders showed off their skills — the fourth grade Coyotes from Countryside Elementary School won first place with a Beyblade stadium design and Shark Tank pitch. - ➤ Surprise show choirs from Valley Vista and Shadow Ridge excelled at the Oceanside Sound-Off competition in California today. Valley Vista’s Voltage and Vocal Thunder each earned first place in their divisions — while Shadow Ridge’s Stellar FX received a second-place finish and Best Performer honor for student Kaden Robinson.
