- ➤ Surprise has set up free Heat Relief stations at the Resource Center, Hollyhock Library, Surprise Regional Library, and Asante Library to give residents water and a cool refuge as temperatures rise — the stations will operate through Sept. 30 as part of a regional effort to prevent heat-related illness. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Surprise Public Library System is joining more than 60 libraries in a summer reading program called Color Our World that starts on June 1 and runs through Aug. 1. Readers earn points by reading or attending events — prizes range from free books to local rewards like pizza and art sets. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Dysart Unified School District set four graduation ceremonies for the 2025 seniors to be held at the Desert Diamond Arena in Glendale on May 14th with start times of 10 a.m. for Willow Canyon, 12:30 p.m. for Dysart, 3 p.m. for Valley Vista, and 5:30 p.m. for Shadow Ridge. Attendance is free and the ceremonies will be live-streamed—tickets and parking are not required. Surprise Independent
