The White Tanks Mountain Chapter of the DAR wrapped up its chapter year on May 3 in Surprise with a celebration that featured patriotic pin distribution, dessert auctions, and a genealogy presentation by Vice Regent Marilyn Simleness—showing the group's broad achievements.

The chapter will start its new year on Sept. 6 at Happy Trails Resort—where a guest speaker will honor Constitution Week.

Attorney General Kris Mayes called on the Arizona Corporation Commission to review APS’s decision to cut off power to 82-year-old Kate Korman in Sun City last May, a move that led to her death from heat stress.

She said that if the disconnections had been halted three days later, her death might have been avoided & her family has pressed for more action.
