- ➤ Surprise’s population increased by 7,700 to 175,304, making it the state’s 7th fastest-growing city according to U.S. Census estimates. The city is also planning its ninth annual Veterans Day Parade. Surprise Independent
- ➤ The city of Surprise will host Safety Splash on Friday, May 22 at Oasis Swim Center. The event offers mini swim lessons, interactive games, raffles + rescue demonstrations to promote water safety for families. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Better Piggies Rescue, located near Carefree Highway and 24th Street, is hosting its final volunteer orientation on Saturday, May 23 at 9 a.m. Volunteers of all ages are invited to help care for over 200 rescue pigs. ABC15

- ➤ Surprise’s next Live at Asante concert will feature rock band Faultline tomorrow, Thursday, May 21, from 6 to 8 p.m.—bringing heavy riffs and powerful vocals to the venue. Surprise Independent
