- ➤ The new Oasis Swim Center in Surprise will host a family beach bash on Saturday, June 21, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 12361 N. Perryville Road—families must register for entry and pay an admission fee of $5 for residents and $8 for non-residents—with all children required to be with a guardian. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Surprise’s Asante Library will host the Phoenix Zoo this weekend as staff display a variety of colorful animals from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 7 (at the Asante Youth Area, 16755 W. Vereda Solana Drive). Surprise Independent
- ➤ Surprise residents are invited to participate in free paper shredding events on June 25, 26 and 28 at the Public Works North Yard (17274 N. Litchfield Road) from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. City staff will manage lockable bins while a vendor shreds the paper, with residents allowed to dispose of up to three banker boxes per event.
