- ➤ Surprise Police released photos of seven people and are asking the public to help identify suspects in a QuikTrip looting near Bell Road and Loop 303 on Saturday night - about 50 people took part in disorderly conduct. AZ Family
- ➤ Surprise Police said a person was in custody after allegedly shooting a man in a residential area near Grand Avenue and Greenway Road on June 16—no other injuries were reported and the victim was taken to a hospital. Surprise Independent
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Juggler James Reid will perform a next-level display of stunts and humor for all ages at the Surprise Regional Library (16089 N. Bullard Ave.) from 2 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 21. The performance will feature Reid’s 40 years of experience and requires no registration. Surprise Independent

- ➤ Councilmember Chris Judd is hosting his regular District 6 meeting today at 6 p.m. at Tap House Sports Grill—13699 N. Litchfield Road—and residents from southeast Surprise are invited to join. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Surprise will end its WeRIDE microtransit pilot program at month-end—federal funds will help cover part of the program costs. Surprise Independent
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Arizona law bans aerial fireworks, but ground-based fireworks are allowed from June 24 to July 6, and residents who suffer from anxiety are advised to plan ahead by using earplugs, noise-canceling headphones and creating quiet spaces—steps that can help them manage stress during celebrations. - ➤ Tracy Peterson, an oncology chaplain with Banner Health, survived stage three pancreatic cancer and renal cell carcinoma—she is now in remission. She leads a support group that meets the third Wednesday of each month—community members can join through the Banner website. ABC15
