CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Arts HQ Gallery in Surprise will open its new exhibit Art Under Fire Friday, June 27 to show work from 30 local artists who used heating methods to create 90 pieces. The exhibit will run until July 31 — the opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. and features work by Bill Battaglia and Robert Benson. Surprise Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Surprise is hosting a financial planning and budgeting workshop next week at the Surprise Resource Center (10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, June 24 at 12425 W. Bell Road) to help community members learn how to manage their money. Registration is required and the workshop is held in partnership with Arizona@Work. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Surprise city staff said WeRIDE will not return after June 30 and are evaluating a voucher program for Uber+Lyft rides to help those who need it most. Surprise Independent
