Here's your local news at a glance for Wednesday, the 25th of June.
Good morning, Surprise.
🚨 Crime
Four 5th-grade students from Legacy Traditional School’s West Surprise campus were arrested on charges of threatening and misdemeanor disorderly conduct—police say the girls planned to lure a classmate to the bathroom and stab him during lunch and recess.
🏛️ Government
Arizona law allows consumer fireworks like sparklers and fountains to be used from June 24 to July 6 but bans rockets, aerial devices and use on public property—violations can lead to fines and liability.
Residents who get injured may seek legal help, so checking the rules before celebrating is important.
Starting today, Surprise allows consumer fireworks on private property with the owner’s consent—fireworks remain banned on public property and cannot be used from 11 p.m. to 8 a.m. except on July 4 when they are allowed until 1 a.m.—residents should check local HOA rules and note that state law ends fireworks sales on July 6.
