Bell Road in West Surprise, and a ribbon cutting ceremony is set for 8:45 a.m.—the first 150 customers in line will get a $5 gift card while donation drop-offs earn a discount during the weekend. - ➤ Maricopa County prosecutors secretly withdrew their request for the death penalty during jury deliberations—delaying the sentencing in Trini Lozano’s case for nearly a decade—and leaving his family without the closure they long awaited. ABC15
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Arizona Department of Transportation is continuing overnight lane restrictions in northwest Surprise for pavement, sidewalk and guardrail work, with eastbound Grand Avenue narrowed to one lane from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. tonight through the morning of Friday, June 27. Starting June 27, both eastbound and westbound lanes on Grand and 303 offramps will be limited (restrictions will run from 9 p.m. until 9 a.m. through the morning of Sunday, June 29).
