- ➤ Ken Garff Automotive Group acquired Arizona's largest Chevrolet dealership, Gateway Chevrolet at 9901 W. Papago Fwy in Avondale on June 25. The Utah-based company now runs five dealerships in Arizona — a move that expands its Phoenix market presence. ABC15
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ U.S. 60 Grand Ave in Surprise will have overnight lane restrictions from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. from Monday, June 30 to Thursday, July 3 for Loop 303 and U.S. 60 interchange improvements + ADOT said closures and narrowings on off-ramps and eastbound will require drivers to merge with caution. - ➤ State transportation officials say two West Valley projects have affected travel this weekend. The US 60 intersection with 75th Avenue in Peoria was closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. today for traffic-signal work while westbound US 60 near Surprise is narrowed to one lane until 9 a.m. Sunday—drivers are advised to allow extra travel time. - ➤ Maricopa County granted Surprise $386,100 to run its Community Action Program at the Surprise Resource Center on W. Bell Road for the next fiscal year. The city must match 25% of this funding—this amount is already reserved in its Human Service and Community Vitality Department budget. Surprise Independent

- ➤ An industrial building in Surprise sold for $36.28 million when Cohen Asset Management purchased the 168,000-square-foot Desert Cove Industrial Center at 11301 N. Litchfield Road.
