- ➤ Two local charter schools have changed their football coaching staff—one in Surprise hired a new coach this month while another in Waddell made a coaching change, setting the stage for a new season. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Serenity Esterline of Surprise, a sophomore goalie at Commonwealth University-Mansfield, was named a 2024-25 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athlete for women’s soccer—she met the GPA requirement of 3.25. Surprise Independent
