GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The city of Surprise is auctioning chairs, a futon, and workout benches this week through Public Surplus Auction, which will run until 8 p.m. Monday, July 28—buyers must pick up their items by appointment during weekday hours within five days after the auction ends. Surprise Independent
- ➤ The city of Surprise began pavement preservation work to extend major road surfaces. Drivers will face overnight lane restrictions on Civic Center Drive from July 23 to August 3, on Greenway Road from July 24 to August 8, on Waddell Road from July 24 to 31 and a closure on Sarival Avenue from July 24 to 25—plan extra travel time and use alternate routes. - ➤ Ryan and Melissa Langohr, who moved into their new home in Northwest Ranch in 2002 (when the subdivision was still being built), felt relieved after city crews fixed a dangerous road curve (a fix that came after years of delay) to make travel safer. Surprise Independent
