- ➤ The Surprise Veterans, Disability and Human Services Commission is asking for nominations to serve as grand marshal for the Veterans Day parade on Tuesday, Nov. 11. Nominations that include a biography and community and military contributions are due by 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 4 (eligible nominees should be Surprise residents or have close community ties). SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ OUAZ football season ticket holders now get extra incentives that include priority entry to Spirit Field games, raffle entries for OUAZ collectibles, an exclusive tailgate party, and a swag giveaway before the Sept. 6 opener against Wayland Baptist; season passes (chairback seats $90 and bleacher seats $60) are on sale until Aug. 10 for four regular season games with 7 p.m. kickoffs.
