- ➤ The Surprise Senior Center is changing its hours to 7 a.m. — 3 p.m. weekdays starting Monday, Aug. 18 to help older members access programs earlier in the day. The center will keep its daily noon meal program as well as offer fitness and lifelong learning services. Surprise Independent
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Maricopa County has more than 125 active data centers and new facilities are planned to support Arizona’s growing AI demand. Leaders and city officials approved zoning rules & stricter standards on noise and site placement to help manage rising power needs and protect local communities. ABC15
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The University of Maryland Global Campus graduated 6,770 students this spring, including five from Surprise — Laura Dorr and Francisco Campa earned associate degrees, Timothy Berger earned a bachelor’s in management information systems, Bryan Dickson earned a master’s in human resources management, and Jessica McCoun earned a master’s in cybersecurity technology.
