- ➤ The city is seeking car show entries, promotional business vendors, nonprofit organizations and outreach groups to sponsor the annual Fiesta Grande, which will be held at Mark Coronado Park from 5 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 11—up to 10,000 people are expected and interested parties must register by Oct. 5 with fees of $500 for business booths, $150 for nonprofit booths and $25 for car show entries. - ➤ QuikTrip opened its fourth store in Surprise at Village at Prasada on July 31—offering the Coffee Wow system with 12 coffee options on tap—and held a ribbon cutting with store manager Joana Parra, store opener Justin Swann, and Mike Hoover, the assistant director of economic development for Surprise. - ➤ The Dysart Demons earned a playoff spot for the first time since 2020 and finished last season with a 7-4 record after a close overtime win against Paradise Honors—Coach John Ganados said the team will use transferees and versatile seniors to fill gaps from departing players and stay healthy as they prepare to open against Benjamin Franklin in a couple weeks.
