- ➤ Interstate Batteries of Arizona teamed with Operation Spark Arrest to offer free trailer chain guards that help stop wildfires—available in Surprise, Peoria and Prescott Valley. People in Surprise can pick them up at the Interstate All Battery Center at 17173 N. Litchfield Road while other centers are in Peoria at 8582 N. 91st Ave. and Prescott Valley at 9021 Florentine Road. Surprise Independent
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A 53-year-old man from Surprise was arrested after he impersonated an FBI agent during a traffic stop on Loop 303 in Peoria in April—DPS said video evidence and eyewitness reports showed his truck had working flashing lights and FBI gear, and he now faces charges for impersonating a peace officer and unlawful imprisonment. - ➤ Surprise’s Arts and Cultural Advisory Commission announced that nine traffic signal cabinets on Cactus Road will get colorful vinyl wraps later this year as part of an expanding public art project.
