- ➤ The Israel Solomon Trio will kick off the Lunchtime Theater series with a jazz mix on Oct. 16 at Arts HQ Gallery in Surprise—one of seven monthly shows scheduled through April. The city and West Valley Arts Council will also feature holiday music, an opera, and a symphony, with tickets at $18 each or $99 for a season pass. Surprise Independent
ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ CoworkingCafe.com released its Top Cities for Economic Growth list this summer and found Surprise ranked fourth among small cities overall and tops in infrastructure—drawing on 11 metrics like GDP growth, job gains, housing expansion, export strength and infrastructure buildout from 2019 to 2023. The study categorized cities by size and shows local economic progress. Surprise Independent

- ➤ Highland Prep — a STEM-focused charter school at 15600 W. Hearn Road — ranked 35th in Arizona and earned the highest rank among Surprise schools based on test scores, graduation rates, and college readiness.
