ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A crash on eastbound US 60 near milepost 129 just before noon on Saturday involved a semi-truck and an SUV and left two children seriously injured—one child was airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital in critical condition while the other was taken by ambulance with serious injuries. ABC15
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Wanderlust exhibition hosted by the West Valley Arts Council is in its final week at Arts HQ in Surprise and will run through Thursday, Sept. 11 at 16126 N. Civic Center Plaza—visitors can see over 90 pieces celebrating travel and exploration during regular hours from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesdays through Saturdays. Surprise Independent
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ On Sept. 5, West Valley Preps hosted Week 2 football games across classes from 6A to 2A with teams including Shadow Ridge winning 43-6 over Clark and Centennial beating Valley Vista 56-6. Other contests saw Corner Canyon secure a 45-14 win over Liberty and Chandler Hamilton triumph 62-14 over OConnor, marking a busy prep football weekend. Surprise Independent
- ➤ The Surprise Saguaros will kick off the 2025 Arizona Fall League season on Oct. 8 with 12 games set at Surprise Stadium — most games start at 1:30 p.m., with three matchups beginning at 6:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $14 for adults and $12 for seniors and children ages 11 to 17.
