- ➤ Surprise residents who long asked for ALDI now see their wish come true as the city gets two stores this year. The new store at 17038 W. Waddell Road will open at 8 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 2 — it will serve customers daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Surprise Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Dawn Densmore, president of Dysart Unified School District's governing board, is urging voters to support a bond and override that will fund a new elementary school and secure land for a future high school—measures that will also help keep safety, transportation and school programs robust without raising taxes. - ➤ Freedom Traditional Academy's PTA earned a national honor by being named a National PTA School of Excellence after a year-long plan to boost school communication was carried out through surveys and listening sessions (the award was announced in August).
