- ➤ Surprise will hold a family-friendly Pumpkin Splash event — where visitors pick a pumpkin, enjoy games and a photo booth — at the Surprise Aquatic Center, 15831 N. Bullard Ave., on Saturday, Oct. 18 from 5 to 8 p.m.; tickets cost $10 for residents and $15 for non-residents and require pre-registration. Surprise Independent
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Local residents will experience a pop-up ride and drive event at Arrowhead Towne Center where they can test BMW's cars on Oct. 12—an exclusive chance to get behind the wheel. Surprise Independent
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Grand Drama and Comedy Club will stage 'The Companion Plan' from Oct. 16 to Oct. 19 in a new play that uses humor and heart to explore life after loss. Shows begin at 7 p.m. + a matinee starts at 3 p.m. on Sunday with tickets at $20 + doors opening 30 minutes early. Surprise Independent
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ USTA League National Championships kick off tomorrow at the Surprise Tennis and Racquet Complex with the Adult 18 and over 3.5 event running from Oct 10 to 12—free admission is offered. Later events include Adult 18 and Over 4.5 from Oct 17 to 19, Adult 40 and Over 3.5 from Oct 24 to 26, Mixed Doubles from Nov 7 to 9, and a junior tournament from Nov 14 to 16. Surprise Independent
