- ➤ Benevilla has scheduled a free educational workshop on fiduciaries to help families learn when and how to choose a professional for managing financial, legal + healthcare decisions. Lisa Weide from Professional Community Services will lead the session from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 21 at the Benevilla Main Campus at 16752 N. Greasewood St. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Dysart Unified School District will host a community job fair Tuesday, Oct 21, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Dysart Support Facility (13825 W. Desert Cove Road) where candidates can apply for high need positions such as crossing guards, paraprofessionals, child care aides, maintenance, and bus aides through on-site screening interviews. SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Valley Vista High School’s unified badminton team won the state championship, adding a third unified state title in the past 12 months—after its volleyball and soccer teams had earned wins last year. The win is part of Arizona’s Unified Sports program that partners with Special Olympics Arizona and the Arizona Interscholastic Association to form co-ed teams of students with and without intellectual disabilities.
