- ➤ Arizona remains one of the top business climates as it attracts new companies; Site Selection Magazine’s annual report ranked it No. 8 for 2025 — tying with Indiana after dropping from No. 7 last year. ABC15
- ➤ Holliewood Fitness opened last week at 12100 N. Dysart Road, Suite 103—after Surprise Mayor Kevin Sartor cut the ribbon on Oct. 27 and the gym held its public opening on Nov. 1. It offers group fitness classes for women on weekdays and Saturday. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Someburros, a longtime Valley Mexican food chain, is planning to open new restaurants in Maricopa, Peoria — and Surprise in 2026. The owner said the chain now opens one or two locations each year, up from one every three years. ABC15
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ The Grand Music Club will present its production 'Dream Big!' at the Sonoran Plaza Ballroom, 19753 N. Remington Drive, from Nov 14 through Nov 16—showing at 7 p.m. on Nov 14 and Nov 15 and a 3 p.m. matinee on Nov 16 with tickets priced at $18 available online or at the venue. Surprise Independent
- ➤ Valley-based trio We3 will perform at Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church on Sunday, Nov 9 at 6:30 p.m.—tickets cost $5, doors open at 6 p.m., and a free-will offering will be collected at the event. Surprise Independent

- ➤ Earle Greenberg said he will be in Chicago for his father’s 98th birthday and will miss the Veterans Day parade on November 11. He urged residents to join upcoming District 2 events such as the City Council meeting on November 18, a December community meeting, hazardous waste pick-ups, donation drives, SciTech Festival on November 22 and a job fair on November 13.
