COMMUNITY NEWS
- ➤ Community members have until tomorrow to donate items like puzzle books, body wash, sunscreen and chewing gum for deployed service members at drop-off locations (Surprise Regional Library, Asante Library, Surprise Senior Center and Sierra Montana Recreation Center). Volunteers are needed for the day of service on Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Community Room at Surprise City Hall (16000 N. Civic Center Plaza) and unwanted Halloween candy will also be accepted. Surprise Independent
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Presale tickets for the Surprise spring music festival are now available on the Out of the Park Music Fest website until the end of Monday. Country music artist Russell Dickerson will headline the eight-hour event that will end the spring training season on March 21, 2026, and the city offers bundled ticket packages. Surprise Independent
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Health officials warned that exposures to measles occurred in Maricopa County at Home2 Suites by Hilton Phoenix Downtown from November 5 at 3 p.m. to November 6 at 1 p.m. and during a November 5 concert at Mortgage Matchup Center—an exposure was also identified at Flagstaff Mall on November 6 from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Those who attended these events should watch for symptoms like high fever, cough, and rash and seek medical care if symptoms develop within 7 to 21 days after exposure.
