Local groups such as the Arizona Food Bank Network, Wildfire, and WIC clinics offer food, SNAP enrollment help and free diapers — neighbors are encouraged to donate or volunteer to support these services. - ➤ Surprise City Hall is showing a new exhibit of art by ArtTHENA!, a group of 100 women using acrylic, watercolor and photography; art lovers can visit on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Dec. 19 (at 16000 N. Civic Center Plaza) to see works celebrating gratitude and joy for Thanksgiving and the winter holidays. Surprise Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Surprise Councilmember Nick Haney will host a meeting with Sports, Entertainment, and Culture Director Kendra Pettis and Parks and Recreation Director Holly Osborn for District 1 residents. The event will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 19 at Surprise Stadium — parking is available and guests should enter through the Parks and Recreation office — call 623 222 1321 for details.
