- ➤ The annual Surprise Party will bring a free holiday event at Surprise Community Park on Friday, Dec. 5 and Saturday, Dec. 6 with a new roller skating rink, DJ music, local food truck treats, a vendor village, a kid zone and Santa photos. City officials will light the tree on Friday at 6:30 p.m. at Surprise Stadium—followed by an aerial skydiving show and fireworks—while Saturday will feature two drone shows, a hot air balloon glow, live ice sculpting and real snow. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Some Dysart Unified School District students will use donated gift card money at Kohl's on Saturday, Dec. 6 from 7 to 10 a.m. at 14020 W. Bell Road with help from Surprise officers—supporting the Shop With a Cop event—while coffee at Gathered Grounds, breakfast at Macayo’s, and a visit from Santa Claus add extra treats.
