- ➤ Members from the French American Chamber of Commerce Rocky Mountain chapter toured Surprise on Nov. 21. They received a presentation at West Valley Arts HQ Gallery, spoke with city officials including Mayor Kevin Sartor, and visited Surprise Stadium, Surprise Oasis Swim Center and IRIS USA facility. - ➤ Surprise Parks and Recreation Department and Surprise Youth Council are hosting the Teen Summit on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at City Hall and Ottawa University-Arizona. This one-day event offers interactive leadership, career, and college readiness sessions for about 300 high school students (registration opens early next year). Surprise Independent

- ➤ Local ticket buyers may win an $820 million Powerball jackpot if they match all five numbers plus the Powerball, marking one of the biggest prizes ever. The drawing starts just before 9 p.m. Saturday (winners can choose 29 annual payments or a $378.2 million lump sum payout). ABC15
