- ➤ Surprise celebrated the opening of its third Dunkin’ at 14025 W. Grand Ave. on Nov. 29 with a ribbon cutting that included city councilmembers, district managers and local law enforcement, while mascot Sprinkles the Donut made a special appearance. Surprise Independent
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Surprise will host its next LIVE at Asante concert featuring indie folk from Jerry Scarsbrook and the Jacobe Reinartz Duo on Thursday, Dec. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Asante Library (16755 W. Vereda Solana Drive), with free food trucks and arts activities adding to the event. Surprise Independent
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Arizona’s minimum wage will increase from $14.70 to $15.15 per hour on Jan. 1, 2026 after lawmakers set a 45-cent hike tied to inflation adjustments in the new law. ABC15
- ➤ The city of Surprise has hired Omar Lopez as a full-time veteran benefits navigator to help veterans, service members, and their families access city resources. He is available by appointment at the Surprise Resource Center, where walk-ins are accepted on select days. Surprise Independent
