- ➤ The All Stars Big Band will celebrate the new year with a concert and dance at I and J Fountain Restaurant on Friday, Jan. 2 from 6 to 8 p.m. Vocalists Ellie Chaffee and Miguel (Mambo) DeLeon and music director Duane Moore promise lively dance tunes and surprises. Surprise Independent
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Students at Copper Canyon High School launched Canyon Corner last month to offer free food and essentials to classmates in need. The student-run pantry is stocked with funds from school fundraisers (and local donations) and aims to ensure no Aztec goes without support. ABC15
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Colonnade will host a Life Care 101 Workshop that explains Life Plan Communities and offers best practices for long-term care planning. Attendees can enjoy breakfast and must RSVP by January 12 (call 623-624-1580 or email [email protected]) as seating is limited. Surprise Independent
